Here are some examples of discussions in progress:

"I'm new to all this so I am trying to gather as much information as possible. Does anyone know anything about east-escrow.org? I've got someone who wants to buy my item and this is the escrow company that she suggested.

It's another fake one!

A WHOIS search shows it's brand new.

Domain Name:EAST-ESCROW.ORG

Created On:11-Oct-2003 12:10:21 UTC

The registrant info shows Lansing MI, BUT the country shows up as Australia. lol

Use their tricks. Tell them you will only accept cash by Western Union wire transfer. lol

One more thing....PLEASE report this ID.

It could be a hijacked account and you need to let ebay know that they attempted to defraud you.

Get them shut down!

I'd select,

Report Transaction problems

Fraud Concerns

Buyer attempting to pay with stolen Credit Card

It's not exact, but you will get the right department and in the message box you can explain about being asked to use a fraudulent escrow site.

Also if the ID has an feedback at all, ask them to check on the possibility that it's a hijacked account.

ROFL!!

This is PURE PROOF that they are FAKE as a 3 dollar bill!

"Buyers can pay by Western Union, Wire Transfer, Money Gram. "

Cash transfer are UNTRACEABLE! They know this and that's why they only accept them as payment.

Ebay specifically mentions NEVER using a cash wire transfer service to pay for an auction. NEVER.

It's on every End of Auction email...near the bottom AND it's over on right side under "Visit the Security Center " link.

One more thing.....NEVER EVER log into one of these escrow sites, or ANY site, with the same password you use anywhere else on the net. NEVER!!

but

simple-escrow.com is a real beauty : a sleeper registered 1 year ago !

Remember people, just because it's not "on the list ", doesn't mean it's legitimate.

These fake sites pop up like fleas!

Look thru the posts and find the list of REAL escrows that ebay recommends and you STILL need to be very careful.

Some of these crooks will send you "spoofed " emails pretending to be one of the real escrow services.

NEVER believe emails. Anyone can spoof/forge the "From " line on an email.

Go to Escrow.com and read how a REAL escrow service works and especially read their security tips and warnings

and NEVER WIRE CASH thru Western Union.

NEVER!

Click on the "Visit the Security Center " link over on the right side. Scroll down and look where EBAY states to NEVER use a cash wire transfer service like WU.

Money-gram and E-gold are also bad!!

Don't be their NEXT victim.

Don't do deals "on the side ".

I don't care HOW GOOD the deal is! It's a con game!

Report those solicitations thru the link provided in the ebay "member to member " emails. It's right on the top.

Read it and heed ebay's warning.
